The Small Business Success Index reports that small business use of social media has doubled in the past year.
Are you missing out? More than 60% say social media helps them identify new customers, expand external marketing, attract new customers, build brand awareness, and stay engaged with customers.
Social media levels the playing field for small businesses, especially in a downturn economy. Connie Steele, Director at Network Solutions, claims “social media can be the best friend for small business owners who constantly seek new ways to maximize productivity while keeping costs low.”
Everybody’s talking: Social Media
The 2009 Small Business Success Index is in: Small businesses are using social media to market.
- 75% have a company page on a social networking site
- 61% use social media for identifying and attracting new customers
- 57% have built a network through a site like LinkedIn
- 45% expect social media to be profitable in the next twelve months
Only 50% of small business social media users say it takes more time than expected.
Company Web sites seem to be the top technology investment. With that comes the ability to showcase products and services online. Social media investments rank third in small business investments to be made in the next two years.
